Job Description:
ASG is seeking a Senior Network Engineer & Architect. This senior-level role will serve as both technical architect and hands-on engineer, responsible for the design, integration, and sustainment of enterprise networks across commissaries, CDCs, and HQ.
The Engineer & Architect will provide strategic guidance, system modernization planning, and compliance-aligned engineering solutions, ensuring mission systems are secure, resilient, and optimized for global operations.
What You Will Do:
- Serves as design authority for enterprise routing, switching, and WAN architecture, ensuring alignment with DoDIN and DISA standards.
- Architects sand implements network modernization initiatives including IPv6 adoption, SDN/NFV, and Zero Trust network segmentation.
- Engineers and sustains OSPF/BGP routing, QoS, WAN optimization, and high-availability configurations.
- Hardens, configures, and maintains firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, and boundary devices.
- Manages core network services such as DNS, DHCP, and IPAM.
- Develops Methods of Procedure (MOPs) and participate in CAB/TRB change processes.
- Provides engineering inputs to RMF/ATO documentation including SSPs, POA&Ms, and compliance validation.
- Maintains enterprise network diagrams, architecture roadmaps, and system baselines.
- Performs capacity planning, performance optimization, and lifecycle refresh analysis.
- Collaborates with cybersecurity, application, and infrastructure teams to deliver integrated, mission-ready solutions.
- Mentors mid-level engineers and act as SME for enterprise network architecture decisions.
- Other duties as assigned.
What We Need:
- Minimum 8 years of enterprise network engineering, with at least 5 years in DoD/DISA environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in routing, switching, firewalls, and boundary defense systems.
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience in key tasks and high-impact assignments.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and lead major technology initiatives.
- Proven experience evaluating performance outcomes and recommending improvements that drive project success.
- Recognized as a technical expert across multiple projects or domains.
- Travel up to 25% may be required based on project needs.
Certifications
- DoD 8570/8140 IAM II or IAT III baseline certification: Minimum Security+ CE required.
Clearance:
Active Secret Clearance.
Even Better
- Bachelor’s degree in Networking, Information Technology, or related field.
- CCNP Enterprise or CCIE for advanced routing/switching expertise.
- Palo Alto PCNSE or Fortinet NSE certifications for firewall/VPN engineering.
- F5 Certified Administrator or Infoblox certification for load balancing and IPAM services.
- Experience with IPv6 migration, SDN/NFV, and Zero Trust network segmentation in DoD environments.
- Strong skills in network monitoring, troubleshooting, and packet analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark, NetFlow).
