We have an opening for Senior Parts Counter Specialist in Davenport, IA. The Senior Parts Counter Specialist provides expert support to customers and internal teams by identifying, sourcing, and supplying the correct parts for heavy-duty trucks. This role serves as a senior-level resource at the parts counter, ensuring exceptional customer service, mentoring junior team members and contributing to the efficiency and profitability of the parts department.

Requirements

  

  • Serve as the lead point of  contact for parts inquiries from customers, service technicians, and sales staff.
  • Identify, source, and supply parts accurately using manufacturer catalogs, software, and inventory systems.
  • Mentor and assist junior counter staff with product knowledge, processes and customer service techniques.
  • Provide technical expertise and advice to customers regarding parts selection, alternatives and compatibility.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to encourage repeat business and loyalty.
  • Assist the Parts Manager in training initiatives, inventory management, and process improvements.
  • Support inventory control by monitoring stock levels, reporting shortages, and assisting with cycle counts.
  • Accurately process customer orders, returns, special orders, and warranty claims.
  • Uphold dealership standards for professionalism, accuracy, and service excellence. 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in heavy-duty truck parts sales or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of semi-truck components, systems, and manufacturer parts catalogs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with both internal teams and external customers.
  • Proficiency with dealer management systems (DMS), inventory software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and mentoring to team members.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Education:

  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • High school or equivalent preferred.
  • Combination of education, training, or experience providing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Required experience:

  • Sales/Customer Service 3-5 years.
  • Automotive or Truck Parts 3-5 years.
