As a Group Homes Supervisor at ChildServe, you’ll take the lead in managing the day-to-day operations of one of our 24-hour group homes, ensuring it runs smoothly and meets the highest standards of care. You’ll oversee staffing — from hiring and training to performance management — while also maintaining compliance with state regulations and managing the home’s budget. In addition to occasional direct care, you’ll collaborate closely with families and professionals to coordinate individualized care plans that help children and young adults thrive. This role also offers growth potential, with the opportunity to advance into a Group Homes Lead Supervisor position.

The starting pay for this position is $50,000/ year and increases with education and experience.

When You'll Work:

Generally standard business hours, Monday-Friday with rotating on-call evenings and weekends.  24/7 accountability; therefore, flexible schedule as operational and medical needs present.  

What You'll Do

Staffing Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop your team by hiring, training, coaching, and evaluating Shift Supervisors and Resident Assistants.
  • Ensure high-quality care by maintaining proper staff-to-resident ratios and making sure all staff are trained in 24-hour supervision.
  • Support continuous growth by facilitating mandatory training and ongoing skill development for all team members.
  • Manage operations by overseeing the home’s budget and collaborating with leadership on financial decisions.
  • Maintain a safe and welcoming environment by ensuring the home is clean, well-stocked, and properly maintained.
Care Management:
  • Advocate for residents by serving as their primary support and voice within the home.
  • Partner with families to plan and personalize care based on their comfort level and involvement.
  • Lead care planning by facilitating Individual Program Plan (IPP) meetings and integrating team-identified strengths and needs.
  • Ensure quality care through monthly case reviews and consistent program documentation.
Program Review:
  • Coordinate with key agencies like IFMC and the Department of Inspection and Appeals to ensure compliance, certification, and proper admissions/discharges.
  • Develop and oversee care programs that address each resident’s priority needs.
  • Provide and support staff training to ensure effective program implementation.
  • Act as a liaison to educational services and complete required statistical reporting.
What You'll Need
  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a human services field and at least 1 year of experience in ICF/DD; must meet QIDP qualifications and have 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Communication Skills: Strong ability to read, write, and speak English effectively.
  • Driving Requirement: Must be willing and able to become an approved driver for ChildServe.
  • Preferred Certifications: CMA, Medication Manager, or CNA certifications are a plus.
