Job Summary: The Human Resource specialist will assist in the running of the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) for 8 locations across 3 states. This including hiring and interviewing staff, benefits, compliance, training and enforcing company policies and practices. You will assist in facilitating daily HR functions like keeping track of employee’s records and supporting the interview process. Your role also, involves performing tasks with a focus to grow our company’s talent pipeline and improve our sourcing tacticsThis position would be 40 hours a week permanent position. Pay depends on experience: $60,000 - $87,000 a year.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Lead full-cycle HR processes, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and offboarding.
  • Partner with managers on coaching, performance management, and employee development.
  • Administer policies, ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws, and support investigations.
  • Oversee workers’ compensation claims, FMLA, and other leave programs.
  • Conduct safety meetings, OSHA interactions, and workplace injury follow-up.
  • Support engagement, culture, and retention initiatives across multiple stores.
  • Assist with benefits: open enrollment, attending benefit meetings, preparing material for meetings
  • Continued training of Teton Auto Group processes and products to be well versed in all platforms used.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation and preservation of human capital
  • Oversee and manage a performance appraisal /one on ones with employees and systems that drives high performance

Requirements and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred but not required 
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP certification preferred but not required 
  • 3+ years of progressive HR experience (multi-location or retail/automotive experience is a plus).
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws (ID, OR, WA), workers’ comp, OSHA, and FMLA.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel regularly to store locations.
  • Bi-lingual Spanish/English highly encouraged.
