Primary Purpose: The primary purpose of the Inside Sales Representative is to provide exceptional customer service to those entering the store, ensuring that their visit to Franklin Building Supply is a positive and productive one. This role entails assisting customers, addressing their questions, and guiding them in finding the products they require. You will be responsible for loading and unloading customers’ vehicles and trailers, putting together small to medium sized material packages, and general forklift operation.


About the Sales Counter: 

  • The Inside Sales Counter serves as the daily face of our company, actively engaging with and assisting customers. When customers call or walk through our doors, our Inside Sales staff warmly greet them and offer support. 
  • In this dynamic role, you'll encounter a diverse range of customers and experience the daily operations of a retail facility. Working at the inside sales counter provides exposure to nearly every aspect of the building industry. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Forklift operation: become trained and certified on a forklift; use forklift to carry out loading and unloading processes.
  • Hand and power tool usage: use chainsaws, circular saws, and other tools as aids when putting together packages.
  • Technology Utilization: Use your personal smartphone (with an allowance provided) alongside company-provided tools to effectively manage job tasks and responsibilities.
  • Inventory Oversight: Play an active role in inventory management, ensuring materials and products are accounted for and organized.
  • Process Improvement Participation: Contribute to LEAN process improvements, including constructing and maintaining visually appealing and functional retail displays.
  • Facility Maintenance: Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and operational facility by performing tasks such as restroom cleaning, trash removal, and painting.
  • Continuous Learning and Growth: Embrace opportunities to enhance your skills, ensuring a commitment to excellence in every aspect of the role.

Requirements

Requirements: To excel in this role, you should embody the following attributes and qualifications:

  • Building Materials Knowledge: Possess basic knowledge of building materials or the ability to quickly learn and retain new information in this field.

  • Computer and Microsoft Suite: Basic computer and MS Suite skills to support sales and customer engagement, including managing your calendar, company-wide email, and teams.

  • Weather Adaptability: Comfortable working in outdoor environments, including prolonged exposure to subzero temperatures during certain seasons.
  • Team-Oriented and Collaborative: Actively participate in regular team huddles, fostering collaboration and providing candidates with an insightful perspective on team dynamics.
