Position Purpose
The Donor Engagement team at Riley Children’s Foundation works closely to develop and implement content and experiences that portray the impact of RCF to our donors and appropriately steward donors who give philanthropically to support clinical care, research, and programs at Riley Children’s Health.
The Event Management Intern will report to the Events Manager. This position will be responsible for supporting many signature events for the Foundation to a wide range of audiences and will provide general support to the Donor Engagement team as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
Interning at Riley Children's Foundation offers a first-hand glimpse of how the Foundation ensures that children have access to exceptional healthcare by funding pediatric research, education and care. We at Riley Children's Foundation raise funds statewide and steward assets for the kids.
- Event Coordination Support
- Assist in coordinating event setup and teardown, ensuring all logistical elements are in place and run smoothly.
- Communicate with vendors and service providers to confirm details and delivery schedules.
- Track and organize event-related expenses and receipts for team records.
- On-Site Support/RCF Representative
- Participate in on-site event staffing, including guest registration, greeting attendees, and providing assistance to vendors and program participants.
- Serve as a friendly and professional representative of RCF during public-facing events.
- Assist with troubleshooting and last-minute adjustments to ensure a positive guest experience.
- Administrative
- Support the preparation and organization of event materials such as signage, name tags, programs, and supplies.
- Maintain RSVP lists and manage registration materials for upcoming events.
- Keep event timelines, checklists, and supply inventories up to date.
- Other Duties as Assigned
- Riley Children’s Foundation Events: Participate in Riley Children’s Foundation events as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
Intern may be assigned projects from the wider Riley Children’s Foundation team. The intern manager will work to identify additional projects or shadowing opportunities that align with intern’s professional interests.
Position Requirements
- Preferred Majors:
- Event Management, Communications, Nonprofit Management, Philanthropy, or similar majors would find this internship beneficial to their career goals and would most likely possess the skills needed to perform assigned projects and tasks.
- Technical Skills Needed:
- Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, Canva, Salesforce platform experience is a plus
- Professional Skills Needed:
- Ability to appropriately and professionally represent RCF to donors, physicians, and staff in person, on the phone, virtually, and in writing. Excellent project management skills. Interest in a non-profit or events management career. Eagerness to learn. Discretion in working with confidential information. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Hours
- Approximately 15 hours each week. Event weeks may require additional hours, which will be agreed upon in advance. Working with your internship manager, choose your own set schedule, which can include remote work.
- Attendance at the Red for our Kids annual gala on Saturday, March 7, 2026 is required.
