Responsible for managing all aspects of a loan portfolio which can include ongoing risk management, credit monitoring, and financial analysis of a portfolio of Commercial and Industrial clients with annual revenue of <$5MM. This role supports Business Banking by evaluating creditworthiness, financial analysis of matured loans, and ensuring compliance with the Bank’s credit policies. The Portfolio Manager plays a key role in maintaining asset quality while supporting relationship growth ensuring profitability and stability of the loan portfolio.
Essential Job Functions:Analyzing renewals, modifications, and short-term maturity extensions of existing loan portfolio for small to mid-size businesses.
Monitoring assigned loan portfolio, evaluating financial trends, and assessing ongoing performance.
Collaborate with the Business Banking team to support client relationships, participate in client meetings, engage directly with clients to request information, address needs, and maintain ongoing communication.
Tracking and managing non-performing, underperforming, and delinquent loans.
Perform ongoing follow up for collection and review of all required documentation and financial data including tax returns, financial statements, operating statements, global cash flow statements, appraisal and environmental reports and other documents as needed or as prescribed by their respective loan covenants and/or reporting requirements.
Determine the physical condition of the collateral through analysis of appraisal reports, inspection reports, environmental/engineering reports, property condition reports and flood determination reports.
Managing collateral exceptions and ensuring credit files are complete and accurate.
Evaluate the financial condition of borrowers, principals, and guarantors through analysis of tax returns, financial statements, global cash flow statements, bank statements, credit reports, OFAC reports and Personal Questionnaire response.
Prepare the Opportunity Memorandum and provide ongoing support to Credit Underwriting for Credit Package preparation with ongoing validation and resource reviews.
Responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the loan data and ongoing loan maintenance.
Directly coordinates with the Bank’s underwriting department and other departments within the Bank to drive the closing process while strictly adhering to all policies and procedures as defined by loan policy.
Identify and escalate ongoing portfolio credit issues to various levels of management.
Assist with the resolution of loan administration items, including exception items and post-closing items.
Handle customer calls and research items to ensure timely and accurate problem resolution, Including proactive client outreach through in-person meetings, as well as inbound and outbound phone interactions.
Conduct ad hoc financial analysis, as required.
Responsible for ongoing portfolio management and special projects, as assigned.
Regularly exercises discretion and judgment in the performance of essential job functions.
Follow Bank policy, practice, and procedures.
- Comprehensive knowledge of loan underwriting and credit evaluation. Including cash flow, balance sheet analysis, collateral evaluation, and personal financial condition analysis.
- Ability to identify challenges, navigate obstacles, and effectively drive the loan closing process.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports and/or legal documents.
Ability to effectively interact with clients and internal partners through written and verbal communication.

Bachelor’s degree in business, real estate or other job-related field, or commensurate work experience required.
Two (2) or more years of work experience in commercial banking, commercial loan underwriting, loan closing, credit analysis and/or asset management, required.
