Description

The Chief Financial Officer prepares financial analysis of operations, including interim and final financial statements with supporting schedules, for the guidance of management. The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for the company’s financial plans and policies, its accounting practices, the maintenance of its fiscal records, and the preparation of financial reports. The role involves supervision over the Controller, Patient Accounts Manager, HR Director, and IT Manager.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities


  • Direct and oversees all financial activities for ACHS and the preparation of relevant financial reports including:
  1. Income statements
  2. Balance sheets
  3. Reports to the Board of Directors
  4. Reports for government regulatory agencies
  5. Statistical reports
  6. Organizational, site, department and program budgets
  • Reviews reports to analyze budget projections against actual figures and suggest methods of improving the planning process as appropriate
  • Development, analysis, and interpretation of statistical and accounting information to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization
  • Maintains the organization’s system of accounts and keeps books and records on all company transactions and assets
  • Establishes, in conjunction with the Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors, major economic objectives and policies for the organization
  • Coordinates and directs the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts, institutes and maintains other planning and control procedures, including the financial accounting system, and analyzes and reports variances
  • Prepares and monitors provider productivity reports
  • Furnishes internal reports, revises and updates reports to be more useful and efficient, and furnishes external reports as necessary
  • Takes a leadership role in the annual financial audit process by obtaining bids, recommending selection of an auditor to the Chief Financial Officer and Board of Directors Finance Committee, and is responsible for preparing for and monitoring progress toward the completion of this audit in a timely manner
  • Attends Finance Committee and Board of Directors meetings and provides staff support to these committees
  • Prepares grant budgets and tracks all expenditures
  • Performs grant draws and handles the reporting in federal grant systems
  • Oversee financial aspects of plant, equipment, and renovations
  • Works with IT Manager to prepare workflow charts and diagrams to specify, in detail, operations to be performed by equipment and computer programs and operations to be performed within existing system
  • Reviews studies and monitors industry trends pertaining to development of new information systems to meet current and projected needs as presented by the IT Manager
  • Acts as a resource to ACHS staff on using financial information available to them
  • Mentor staff as they develop overall goals and objectives. Conduct periodic assessments of progress towards achievement of goals and objectives. Conduct performance evaluations in a timely manner. Meet with management personnel individually and at least every 6 months, to review goals and objectives
  • Other duties, hours, and ACHS site placement may be assigned

Experience & Education Requirements

  • 7 years of direct program management and program implementation experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university
