The VP, Commercial Loan Experience Officer will serve as a critical bridge between New Horizon Bank’s commercial bankers, lending assistants, and the backend Loan Closing and Operations Department. The position is designed to streamline execution, enhance customer experience, and allow bankers to focus on growth and relationships while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and consistency with internal processes.
This role will report directly to the CEO to reflect its importance on the client-facing business side of loan execution. Day-to-day collaboration will occur with the Director of Loan Operations and the Chief Credit Officer to ensure all activities follow established policies, procedures, and credit guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Bridge Between Frontline and Operations: Act as the primary link between commercial bankers, lending assistants, and loan operations to ensure a seamless client and banker experience.
- Process Alignment: Execute loan closings and related activities in full compliance with policies and procedures set by the Director of Loan Operations and the Chief Credit Officer.
- Client Experience: Champion a best-in-class client journey from loan approval through funding, ensuring communication, timeliness, and professionalism at every step.
- Loan Documentation: Draft, review, and coordinate commercial loan documentation with attorneys and third parties to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Due Diligence & Compliance: Review title commitments, surveys, purchase agreements, UCC filings, and corporate documents to verify completeness and adherence to standards.
- Funding & Disbursements: Partner with Loan Operations on the funding and disbursement process, including construction loan draws, third-party approvals, and budget monitoring.
- Team Partner & Mentor: Partner with lending assistants to standardize best practices, enhance efficiency, and build stronger execution discipline.
- Collaboration with Operations Leadership: Maintain close coordination with the Director of Loan Operations to align execution with institutional policies, training standards, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in the financial services industry, with a focus on credit and loans.
- Proven track record of developing and managing a successful team of commercial bankers, lenders and operation partnerships.
- Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage a group of highly trained personnel.
