Primary Objective of Position: Responsible for timely procurement of materials from known sources of supply to support requirements to sustain planned production schedules.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Monitor consumption levels of materials and supplies within company-defined inventory levels and to meet on-time delivery requirements for daily production needs.
  • Determines the materials needed and methods to use to procure repetitive and cycle count commodities.
  • Create and maintain bills-of-material for assigned commodities.
  • Purchases materials and supplies and places purchase orders with approved suppliers.
  • Investigates and identifies problems, including finding alternative sources, resulting from quality and specification issues so that a corrective action plan can be determined.
  • Communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of needed commodities including expediting purchases when needed to meet planned production schedules.
  • Generate and/or reviews reports as necessary to ensure timely procurement of materials.
  • Assist the Supply Chain team as requested.

  • Strong organizational skills, a good understanding of sourcing and ability to maintain supplier relationships.
  • Ability to use and interpret data to determine purchasing needs and perform inventory management tasks.
  • Skilled at presenting information clearly and accurately using verbal and written communication methods.
  • Capable of entering data with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a demanding environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering requirements including prints, schematics, work instructions, or other technical formats. 

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred or four years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with processes and systems for purchasing, materials, inventory, and stockroom warehouse in an assembly line environment.
  • Experience with Teamcenter and Infor XA databases. 
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office products and ERP systems.
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering requirements including prints, schematics, work instructions, or other technical formats.
