Position: Human Resource Assistant
General Description:
Human Resource assistant will be directly responsible for certain HR functions of the agency. The hiring process, staff orientations, employee recognition, training compliance as well as employee benefits, all fall under the HR umbrella within the agency.
Principal Duties:
- Oversee hiring process
- Monitor authorization to hire form
- Draft, place & monitor advertisements
- Gather/sort & forward resumes
- Set up initial interviews
- Perform background/reference checks
- Prepare & disseminate hire & rejection letters
- Manage Staff Orientations
- Assist in presenting and explaining personnel policy
- Complete benefit enrollments
- Complete orientation checklist
- Assist with quarterly employee orientation meetings
- Help Oversee Employee Recognition/Staff Development
- Coordinate staff awards and recognition
- Assist with coordinating Summer/Winter Employee Outings
- Monitor Compliance with Policies & Regulatory Bodies
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all personnel matters
- Maintain adherence to Personnel Policy
- Monitor compliance with trainings and grant related requirements
- Monitor poster compliance at all sites
- Maintain/monitor the updating of documents in personnel files (& file documents)
- Assist with front desk duties
Qualifications:
- Must be friendly and outgoing, have excellent oral & written skills, be computer proficient, hands-on and a self-starter.
- Must be able to maintain strictest confidentiality in all personnel matters.
- Requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision; must be a self-starter, organized and detail-oriented.
- High School Diploma a must. At least two (2) years related experience required.
- Must have a strong commitment to personal and professional ethics and standards and be able to set and maintain appropriate boundaries.
