Free People is seeking an Assistant Print Designer to create and execute original print, pattern and surface design artwork for the We the Free and Structured categories within the Free People brand. This role contributes to the development of original print and pattern designs that capture the unique aesthetic of the We the Free and Free People customer. Success in this position requires strong deadline management and the ability to produce clear, concise tech packs.
Our WE THE FREE collection is an in-house, heritage inspired collection of timeless staples – everything from your favorite jean to handcrafted leather goods. Untraditionally classic, rooted in menswear, vintage, and rock ‘n roll. The love is in the unexpected details - versatile, easy, borrowed from the boys with a feminine twist. Role Responsibilities:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Textile Design, Surface Design, Fine Art or related experience required.
- 1-2 Years Design industry or related experience in print and textile design with a strong foundation of hand drawing/painting and digital rendering strongly preferred.
- Creativity is a must! Strong sense and understanding of Fashion Trends and how it could translate to the Free People customer. Ability to identify new trends and how those can relate to print designs.
- Strong sense of technical print design understanding and passion for surface design and making of prints.
- Excellent hand and strong creative and technical skills in Adobe Creative Suite and NedGraphics (preferred).
- Enthusiasm and willingness to explore creatively using AI platforms. (MidJourney, PromeAi) knowledge/experience would be a plus!
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office 365.
- Self-starter with the ability to function independently as well as in a team-based environment
- Great attention to detail, strong sense of urgency and ability to thrive in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
- Strong sense of organizational skills and proactiveness, great communication skills and ability to multitask.
- 4-5 days in office Philadelphia PA - Home Office Navy Yard.
