Position: Kitchen Supportive Float

Compensation Band: $16.00 per hour, Entry Pay Band
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Full-Time
Hours of Work: Monday–Friday 9a-1pm; multiple locations
Closure Status: Level 2
MISSION STATEMENT:

PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Kitchen Supportive is responsible for preparing meals for the Dreamery and/or other locations and maintaining the quality and nutritional standards of prepared meals as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
- One year of experience in food service is required.
- Must pass criminal, child abuse and neglect, and sex offender background checks.
- Ability to meet the requirements of the Bureau of Child and Adult Licensing.
- Ability to understand and follow all guidelines of the Health Department, YWCA, and the Child and Adult Care Food Program including taking direction or correction from others in order to comply with those guidelines.
- ServSafe certification or ability to obtain certification in the first 6 months of employment.
- Demonstrated ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, accurately, and professionally.
- Proof of freedom from communicable tuberculosis according to Bureau of Regulatory Services licensing requirements.
- Must be able to safely lift 60 pounds.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participates in YWCA's Food Services Program by preparing healthy meals through a wide variety of fresh, local, and homemade foods, for consumption in our Dreamery locations.
- Provides nutritious meals following the pre-planned menus in order to meet the guidelines and requirements for the Child and Adult Care Food Program under the direction of the Associate Director of Food Services
- Arrives on-time, well-rested, ready to work with an open mind and positive attitude to all shifts.
- Maintains a clean working environment, including all high-touch surfaces, food preparation, storage areas, and work-related laundry.
- Collects and cleans serving and classroom dishes, returning in a timely manner.
- Assists in completing the opening and closing routines on time each day.
- Assists in the receipt of food products and the proper storage of all foods and materials.
- Consistently follows all guidelines of the Health Department, the Child and Adult Care Food Program and the YWCA.
- Delivers all meals and snacks to the Dreamery Classrooms safely, accurately, and timely
- Observes strict food handling requirements with regard to allergens and dietary restrictions including separate plating and labeling.
- Safeguards confidential information gained as a result of the position.
- Complies with applicable local, state and federal licensing requirements/certification and or regulations.
- Complies with Association policy regarding required reporting of child abuse and neglect.
- Works cooperatively and for the good of others with program participants, YWCA staff and volunteers.
- Reports to the Associate Director of Food Services.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Occasional off-site locations; promotional events, networking events, community engagement events, etc.

- While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate-loud

- The employee must frequently lift and /or move more than 25 pounds.
- The employee must occasionally lift and /or move more than 50 pounds.
