SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Assist operators in KMC manufacturing operations in a variety of job duties by providing support in operating equipment, material handling, inspection, and packaging support. Employee will rotate throughout the manufacturing facility on a regular basis to gain an understanding and proficiency of KMC processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.
- Support operators by moving parts through manufacturing operations and assist with set-up tasks when necessary.
- Clean parts in spotweld area as defined through work instructions.
- Assists operators by unloading and loading parts on and off the conveyor wash line.
- Aids in the packing process which includes, but is not limited to, assembling boxes, safely operating a banding machine and/or other packaging equipment as necessary.
- May perform visual inspection using work instructions and General Standards of Workmanship
- Perform general clean-up duties of the equipment and surrounding areas as defined in the 5S Standards
- Retrieving, returning, and organizing inspection gages, scrap chutes, and packaging materials.
- May perform basic material handling duties with the use of manual pallet jack to move material, dies, and stage parts
- Adhere to all KMC and OSHA safety related work rules and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.
- High school diploma or general education (GED) or one or three months related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience
- Prefer 3 months of prior manufacturing experience, but not required
- Ability to do count, add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, specifications, and memos. Ability to prepare timesheets and job related paperwork. Ability to effectively communicate with customers and other employees of the organization.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; occasionally required to sit and talk; frequently required to hear, walk and continuously stand and reach with hands and arms. The employee will frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Continuously exposed to manufacturing noise.
