About the role

We are looking to add a Miner Maintenance Assistant Supervisor to our growing Miner Maintenance Department. This role primarily supports the Miner Maintenance Team in overseeing the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of our bitcoin miners. This role will oversee the daily operations of the miner maintenance team responsible for the upkeep of bitcoin mining hardware and infrastructure.

Essential Functions

• Overseeing and participating in the preventive and corrective maintenance of Bitcoin mining hardware to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance. 
• leading a team of maintenance technicians, including scheduling work shifts, assigning tasks, and ensuring staff training and compliance with safety regulations. 
•  Regularly checking the operational status of mining equipment to detect performance issues early and implementing solutions to mitigate any potential impacts on mining efficiency. 
• Acting as the first point of contact for any hardware malfunctions or system failures, providing immediate troubleshooting support, and making critical decisions regarding repairs or parts replacement. 
• Ensuring that all maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with established safety standards and legal regulations to protect personnel and equipment.
• Keeping accurate records of maintenance activities, including detailing repairs, parts inventory, and system performance, and reporting these findings to higher management for review and planning. 
• Continuously seeking ways to improve maintenance procedures and equipment performance through technology upgrades and innovative practices.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

•  Understanding of the hardware and software used in Bitcoin mining, and associated networking equipment.
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems relevant to the maintenance and operation of mining equipment. 
•  Familiarity with diagnostic tools and techniques for identifying and resolving hardware and software issues. 
• Ability to perform hands-on maintenance and repairs on complex mining equipment. 
• Skills in leading and managing a team, including task delegation, motivation, and conflict resolution. 
• Strong problem-solving skills to effectively troubleshoot issues and optimize our bitcoin mining operation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting to management and collaborating with team members and vendors.
• Ability to manage projects, including maintenance schedules and budget oversight. 
• Capable of performing precise and thorough work, crucial for the maintenance and monitoring of bitcoin mining equipment. 
• Physical ability to handle manual repairs and maintenance tasks, which may require lifting, bending, and working in cramped conditions.

Education and Experience 

• 2-5 years of experience working in Miner Maintenance or related field.
• Experience with safety protocols and standards.
• Prior experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Practical experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of bitcoin miners is crucial.
