The Tax Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the tax team across various functions including exemption certificate management, audit assistance, and tax reporting. This role ensures the accuracy and completeness of incoming exemption certificates, maintains organized records, and coordinates with vendors for timely renewals.
Responsibilities:- Review and approve incoming exemption certificates for completeness and accuracy
- Maintain and coordinate renewal of sales tax exemption certificates with vendors
- Provide administrative support including data entry, scanning, and document processing
- Assist with tax audits by retrieving invoices and certificates
- Support the business license and property tax teams with documentation and payment processing
- Respond to customer requests for W9s, exemption certificates, and taxability questions
- Maintain tax files, invoices, journal vouchers, and account reconciliations
- Contribute to the timely completion of various tax filings and reports
- Ensure accurate storage of all tax records and payments
- Familiarity with sales and use tax, property tax, and business license processes is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Experience with document management systems and tax software, is a plus
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams
Education
High school diploma, required. Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field, preferred.
Experience
2+ years of experience in a tax support, accounting, or administrative role, preferred.
