We are seeking an experimental research associate to join our team at the to build a comprehensive map of transcription factor regulation across tissues. This effort, led by Founding Director Eric Lander, will seek to understand the fundamental wiring of the genome and build a reference atlas for discovering biological mechanisms of common genetic diseases. We are looking for highly motivated individuals to join this team to make fundamental discoveries in mapping transcription factors in various cell types and tissues, understanding cellular programs, and developing new tools to uncover mechanisms of disease. This team will develop and apply technologies combining CRISPR, single-cell measurements, and epigenomic tools in human cells and tissue to understand genetic regulation in health and disease. The is a dynamic, innovative, and interdisciplinary workplace and is seeking to hire an exceptional scientist who will work at the Lander Lab in this next foundational project to understand the human genome. Prior research associates working with the principal investigator have co-authored publications in major journals including Cell, Science and Nature. This is a 40 hour/week full-time position with flexible hours and competitive salary/fringe benefits. CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES Collaborate with scientists and research associates to make fundamental discoveries about gene regulation and disease geneticsDevelop and apply functional genomics techniques, including epigenomics, single-cell, transcriptomics, and CRISPR-based assays in human cells and tissuesWork with the Lander Lab and the wider Broad community to integrate emerging technology and streamline data generation and analysis.Design and lead independent projects including developing methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining resultsMake significant contributions to scientific papers, quantitative data analyses and presentationsContribute to the generation of protocols and data analysesWork with a multidisciplinary team to achieve project goalsREQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics or related life science fieldAdditional 2+ years of relevant laboratory experience in academic or industry setting is strongly preferredStrong hands-on experience in molecular biology, genomics, and cellular biology (cell-based assays, primary and cell line culture) is requiredExperience with genome editing tools including CRISPR targeting in various human cell types is preferredProven track record of critical scientific thinking, multi-tasking ability, and strong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team with scientists from a wide range of research expertiseOutstanding verbal and written communication abilities
