Step into a job that opens countless doors. As one of Canada’s largest and most diverse hospitals, we’re providing advanced care to people of all ages from across the province. You can explore advancement opportunities, take professional development courses, and stretch yourself as a leader, all at HHS.  We are the largest employer in the greater Hamilton region, and play a vital role in training the next generation of health professionals in collaboration with our academic partners, including McMaster University and Mohawk College. Hamilton Health Sciences is a hospital system of 18,000 staff, physicians, researchers and volunteers that proudly serves south central Ontario residents. We also provide specialized, advanced care to people from across the province.

The Pediatric Hematology & Oncology ambulatory clinic at McMaster Children’s Hospital provides comprehensive care to patients with pediatric blood and oncology diagnoses. The care includes acute tertiary and subspecialty oncology medical and surgical care within a family centered environment. The Hematology & Oncology pediatric team provides care in the outpatient setting in collaboration with the inpatient and community teams.

McMaster Children’s Hospital is proud to be a Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario (POGO) Provincial Pediatric Oncology Satellite partner, supporting care closer to home. The POGO Satellite Program is a networked, shared-care system based on a partnership between Ontario’s tertiary hospitals (hospitals with childhood cancer programs such as CHEO, SickKids, London Health Sciences, McMaster Children’s Hospital) and POGO Satellite Clinics. POGO Satellite Clinics are located in areas where the caseload is large enough to maintain the expertise needed, and where patient travel, cost and family disruption will be reduced.

The POGO Satellite Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting the management of shared care between McMaster Children’s Hospital and the POGO Satellite Clinics.  The Satellite Program Coordinator is a Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Hematology & Oncology ambulatory clinic and works as a liaison to refer and provide orientation to families about the POGO Satellite program and to facilitate communication between hospital and POGO Satellite partner. The Satellite Program Coordinator helps to identify education needs of the Satellite sites and ensures adherence to the standards and guideline set out in the POGO Satellite Manual.
