Regional Field Development Associate

Summary:
Mission: Service and support Young Life region and areas in the given region in achieving sustained financial health and raising capital funds. Authority: Reports to the regional director and is connected to the divisional campaign director via a dotted line. The regional director and divisional campaign director will work together to establish goals and benchmarks.


Essential Duties:
In partnership with Development Services and with the hiring region as authority and primary customer:
  • Strategy: focus on the activities that will have the largest impact on both the regional campaign activities and local area operating budget.

  • Refine this focus with area directors.

  • Coordinate how area initiatives are rolled out.

  • Consult with area directors as they put together local TDS Committees.

  • Consult on banquets and other local area fundraisers as requested/needed.

  • Work closely with the divisional field development director/coordinator to strengthen the monthly donor support as it pertains to the local area.

  • Case Development: refine the message for each area as it pertains not only to the operating budget but also to the regional, divisional and missionwide campaign vision.

  • Oversee all area related campaign materials from production through implementation.

  • Work closely with the divisional campaign director on how the regional case is implemented and initiatives are rolled out.

  • Prospects: work with the divisional campaign director to identify and properly prioritize the right people to target to give to the operating budget as well as the regional campaign.

  • Manage the regional PPL and coordinate this PPL with the divisional campaign director.

  • Coach regional staff and area staff towards proper TDS practices.

  • Implement the “Major Donor/Mini Campaign” strategy at the regional and area level.

  • Plan: carry out the individual plans and initiatives as defined by the regional director and divisional campaign director (from initial launch to completion of the regional campaign).

  • Coordinate major donor engagements throughout the region. Partner with the divisional campaign director in these efforts. Participate in engagements as appropriate.

  • Work closely with the regional and area director to provide quality follow up and accountability on all major gift follow up, including accountability on any matching funds.

  • Work closely with area directors to help them raise any matching money provided by the region, build and execute a plan for their donors and have a realistic and compelling vision.

  • Leadership: identify and develop the people (staff and volunteers) who will give energy and resources to fundraising at both the regional and local level.

  • Work closely with all Development Services personnel assigned to projects within the division.

  • Coach and care for TDS Committees, set benchmarks for these committees and manage follow up and accountability.

  • Reporting: Implement a regular reporting product for staff and donors that covers how major gifts have been distributed through the region and how that investment has paid off.



  • Working Conditions:
    Office environment; travel as needed.



    Education:
    BA degree preferred.

    Experience Required For the Job:
  • Extensive Young Life knowledge.

  • Extensive Taking Donors Seriously® knowledge.

  • Able to carry out the duties of the position.

  • Able to give spiritual leadership.

  • Able to effectively manage the operational aspects of a missionwide office

  • Able to work effectively with all field staff and their supervisors.

  • Able to work effectively as a team member with Development Services staff.

  • Proficiency in Excel or other reporting applications that demonstrate the ability to become proficient in ASIST (online PPL, Cash Flow and other Young Life owned applications) as well as Development Services third party Customer Relationship Management tool – Salesforce.

  • Previous non-profit fund development experience required.

    • Will responsible to raise 100% of support.
    • The anticipated salary for this position can range from $55,557-$69,531.50 depending on relevant education, experience, and location.
