About the Department
This is specialized work performing building and electrical maintenance. All work is performed under the supervision and review of the Master Electrician.
Position Duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (The following examples are illustrative and are not intended to be all-inclusive.)
- Installs new electrical systems and equipment. Installs conduits, pulls electrical and data cable, builds control systems for motors and lighting. Remodels and finishes existing systems. Programs computerized lighting systems. Installs temporary power systems, and installs modular lighting systems. Responsible for rough and final trim work, fire alarm, card readers, and generators.
- Installs and certifies voice and data wiring and jacks.
- Responsible for the design, layout, building, and installation of distribution boards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Two years of journeyman electrical experience.
- A combination of education and experience may be considered.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Must possess a Journeyman Electrician’s license issued by the State of Colorado.
- Must possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License upon hire, with complying insurance. Review of motor vehicle record is required at time of hire and periodically throughout employment.
- This position requires successful completion of a criminal background check including fingerprinting through a national database.
