Child Nutrition Program Coordinator

We are looking for a dynamic team player passionate about Tooele County School District, the Child Nutrition Program (CNP), and Tooele County Students. This position will work closely with the CNP staff to maintain excellence in the Child Nutrition Program. The ideal team member must have an outstanding attitude, sincere personality, and passion for work. These traits are vital to joining our team and fit with our mission.

Job Description
The CNP Coordinator will supervise assigned schools to help with staff training and development, support new and current processes, grow the skills of the CNP team members, and assist in the day-to-day operations of the Child Nutrition Program. Coordinator will also perform office-related tasks, including filing state claim, verifying and processing free/reduced applications, and coordinating with other schools and departments on student status information. The coordinator will use leadership techniques and traits to reach our team members and bring the best out of every team member. The coordinator serves a vital role in supporting CNP staff at the school level and helping guide the mission of the department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Work closely with the CNP Director and Dietitian to help maintain and grow the CNP image and mission.
Supervise and coordinate training programs for CNP Managers and CNP Cooks.
Perform performance evaluations of CNP kitchen team members.
Coordinate goal setting processes with CNP kitchen team members.
Perform and document trainings with school CNP staff regularly.
Maintain records and verify statistics to aide with monthly claim.
Ensure students are placed on correct meal status based on applications or directly certified list.
Performing annual tasks required by CNP, verification, application processing, October survey, community eligibility provision qualification, USBE trainings, etc.
Assist CNP Director with school-level staffing processes.
Supervise assigned school kitchens team members and oversee personnel situations.
Perform routine inspections at site level to ensure regulations are being executed properly.
Oversee operation of TCSD’s summer feeding program.
Meet frequently with principals, students, parents, CNP managers, CNP cooks, and district employees.
Other duties as assigned by Child Nutrition Program Director and/or Dietitian.

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED Required.
Must be 21 years of age.
Proven leadership skills to lead and grow a team of professionals.
Three years of food industry managing experience required. At least one year of school food service management experience preferred.
Knowledge of current federal guidelines regarding national school breakfast, national school lunch, and smart snacks programs preferred.
Requires good interpersonal skills both in verbal and written form.
Valid driver's license required. Travel from the CNP office to schools will be required.

License or Certification

Food Safety Manager certification and maintain certification throughout the employment of this position. (Required within 30 days of employment)

Physical Requirements: not limited to the following

Requires the ability to lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
Must be able to stoop, bend, reach, and twist.
Must be able to read and interpret recipes, equipment safety instructions, and safety data sheets.
Must be able to write, type, and comprehend all information needed to complete daily tasks.
Must endure heat, potentially dangerous equipment, tight deadlines, and extensive paperwork in a compressed time period.

12-month employee, 40 hours per week
Salary: Support Professional Salary Schedule Rate W1
The pay rate will be set based on job-related experience and education level.
260 days per year
