Description
The HRDLS Intercultural Program works with different stakeholders and units to help develop global mindset and create an appreciative and inclusive working environment at WBG. It supports staff and teams by providing face-to-face and virtual training and facilitations to help teams and staff better engage different talents and resources, and global clients, and communicate and work more effectively across cultural differences.
This position of HR Specialist, learning and development for the intercultural program is reporting directly to the Senior HR specialist in charge of the Language Program and the Manager for Leadership and Staff Development and Open Learning Campus, working closely with colleagues from the Communication and Business Skills team.
The general tasks will include:
1.Initiate collaboration and partnerships with relevant WBG teams to help enhance business effectiveness, client engagement and workplace culture through different learning events, activities and programs
2.Plan and supervise STC and/or vendor (s), budget and day-to-day business operations of the Intercultural Program, incl. adjusting business model as needed.
3.Prepare and develop communication and engagement strategies and activities to connect and build long-term partnership and collaboration initiatives to help teams and staff cultivate deep-dive understanding of cultural differences and develop cross-cultural competence to maximize WBG cultural diversity and better engage clients
4.Design, plan, and prepare cutting-edge in-person and digital learning assets and packages for preworkshop, in-session and postworkshop activities that target team and staff cross-cultural training needs; emphasize business concerns, team pain points, and business impact; integrate authentic case studies, critical incidents, and interactive experiential and reflective activities; develop actionable plans that will help team and staff apply the knowledge and skills acquired
5.Facilitate and deliver face-to-face and virtual training that engage different learning styles, ensure open and safe discussions and foster deep reflections and connections; balance theoretical framework with business simulations, and practicality for applications; develop long-term motivation and mental readiness to learn and adapt to ongoing changing cultural working environment
6.Evaluate and monitor teams and staff in achieving their learning objectives; hold follow-up conversations; design and conduct L1-3 evaluations; review teams’ action plans, and help develop strategies for diversity, inclusion, and business results
7.Collect, track and analyze data, track impact of the program roll-out; customize course design and content for specific group training needs; write reports on participants’ progress, pedagogy applied, and lessons learned
8.Manage working relationships with vendor(s).
Selection Criteria
1.Master’s degree in cross-cultural training, intercultural communication, international relationships, organizational development, or business administration or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2.At least 5 years of experience in research, design, development and delivery of intercultural training, global leadership, diversity, and inclusion within or outside the WBG.
3.Excellent project management skills, including analytical skills and thorough knowledge of intercultural research, frameworks, tools, and benchmarking practices.
4.Excellent communication and engagement skills for different stakeholders and learning styles.
5.Excellent knowledge of evaluation tools for cross-cultural training and business impact.
6.Experience with learning instructional design and facilitation.
7.Familiarity and experience with RW3
