Position Overview:

A motivated Roofer Apprentice is an entry-level position that offers hands-on training, mentorship, and the opportunity to grow within the company. You’ll work alongside experienced roofers, learning the skills and techniques necessary to excel in the steep and low slope shingle roofing trade while contributing to real projects.

Responsibilities:

Installation & Replacement

• Prepare materials, tools, and work areas for daily tasks.
• Safely operate hand and power tools with supervision.
• Follow jobsite protocols and setup, including property protection and safety equipment.
• Perform work according to company standards.
• Learn skills such as minor carpentry work, proper shingle roofing techniques, systems, and processes (ground-level only for the first 30 days).

Safety & Compliance

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe worksite.
• Follow company safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
• Operate and maintain tools and equipment properly.
• Use fall protection equipment and other PPE at all times.

Teamwork & Communication

• Support team members in loading and unloading materials.
• Collaborate with crew members to complete jobs efficiently.
• Communicate respectfully and professionally with crew leads and crew members.
• Be on time for all shifts and ready to go at the assigned time with all personal tools and PPE.

Requirements

Working Hours:

Generally, Monday through Friday, 6am until 5pm.

• No prior roofing experience required—training will be provided
• Willingness to learn and take direction from senior crew members
• Good physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Comfortable with heights and working on ladders/scaffolding
• Reliable transportation to job sites
• Strong work ethic, punctuality, and positive attitude
• Clear background check and drug test
• Reliable transportation

Physical Requirements:

• Sitting, standing and walking, which may be for extended periods of time
• Lifting and carrying, up to 100 lbs
• Ability to work at heights up to 40 feet and on steep slopes
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Pushing, pulling, and reaching overhead
• Manipulation of objects and materials, including holding, grasping, turning, and touching
• Driving
• Stooping, crouching, kneeling
• Climbing ladders, stairs, or scaffolding
• Hearing, in-person and through the telephone or electronic device (such as a tablet)
• Speaking, in-person and through the telephone or electronic device (such as a tablet or computer)
• Visual acuity, both near (i.e. clarity of vision of approximately 20 inches or less) and far (i.e. clarity of vision of approximately 20 feet or more)
