Job Summary:

The P6 Outage Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing project schedules for planned outages, turnarounds, and capital projects. Using Oracle Primavera P6, this role ensures all activities are accurately captured, logically tied, resourced, and aligned with outage goals. This position plays a critical role in minimizing downtime, ensuring safe and timely project completion, and providing clear communication between contractors, internal teams, and stakeholders. This assignment is expected to run through November 9, 2025.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule Development & Maintenance
    1. Build and maintain detailed outage schedules in Oracle Primavera P6
    2. Integrate contractor, vendor, and internal craft activities into a single logic-driven schedule
    3. Ensure compliance with contract milestones, critical path, and project requirements
  • Schedule Analysis & Reporting
    1. Identify critical path and near-critical path activities
    2. Provide schedule variance analysis and “what-if” scenarios
    3. Prepare daily and weekly reports including earned value, look-aheads, and resource histograms
  • Outage Planning Support
    1. Work with project managers, construction managers, planners, and field supervisors to capture scope and durations
    2. Develop schedule coding, activity IDs, and structure for consistency and reporting
    3. Support resource leveling and manpower forecasting
  • Execution Phase Support
    1. Update schedules daily during outages with actual progress, constraints, and new activities
    2. Participate in daily coordination meetings to provide updated forecasts
    3. Highlight schedule risks and recommend recovery strategies to management
  • Compliance & Documentation
    1. Maintain schedule baselines and audit trails
    2. Ensure schedules align with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
    3. Archive final schedules and lessons learned for future outages


 

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred
     
     

Experience:

  • Required:
    1. 3–5 years of scheduling experience in power generation, refining, petrochemical, or heavy industrial projects
    2. Proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6 (latest version)
    3. Experience supporting large, multi-contractor outages or turnarounds
    4. Proficiency with MS Excel, PowerPoint, and professional report generation
  • Preferred:
    1. Familiarity with craft labor management
    2. Exposure to earned value management (EVM) practices
    3. Experience working in a field or plant-based scheduling role


 

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of CPM (Critical Path Method) scheduling principles
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to spot schedule risks early
  • High attention to detail and logical structuring of tasks and milestones
  • Effective communicator across executives, engineers, contractors, and craft supervision
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in high-pressure outage environments
  • Practical problem-solving ability for real-time recovery planning
  • Team-oriented but assertive in defending schedule integrity


 

Work Location and Travel:

  • This is a full-time, project-based role located at a customer site in Georgetown, SC.
  • Travel is not expected outside of daily commute.
  • Assignment is scheduled to end on November 9, 2025

 

Work Environment:

  • Position is based at an active industrial site during an outage project
  • Standard work schedule is 6 days per week, 10-hour shifts, with every other Sunday off.
  • Exposure to heat, humidity, outdoor conditions, and job site hazards is expected
  • Must be able to work safely in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • This position is safety-sensitive in nature and requires continuous focus

Physical Requirements:

Talk/Hear: Must be able to communicate with team leads, site managers, and field personnel.

Stand/Sit: Long hours sitting while working on a computer and standing during site walks.

Walk: Frequent movement around the site and between trailers and equipment areas.

Use hands/fingers to handle or feel: Regular use of keyboard, mouse, and scheduling tools.

Climb: Occasional climbing of steps or scaffolds for site observations.

Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl: Occasionally required during field verification or inspections.

See: Must be able to read detailed schedules and spot critical trends or issues.

Carry, weight, Lift: Occasionally required to lift and carry documents or equipment up to 25 pounds.

Exposure to work: Daily exposure to construction noise, heat, dust, and job site risks; PPE required.
