Location: Pittsburgh, PA - Hybrid

Classification: Exempt

Status: Full-Time

Reports to: Vice President, Account Management 

Purpose

The Director, Account Management builds and manages relationships with works with existing manufacturer partners for exclusive and highly limited distribution drugs.  The Director will develop long-term relationships with PANTHERx’s manufacturer partners that leads to high customer satisfaction and retention.    

Responsibilities

  • Leads in developing relationships for each manufacturer partner from the pre-implementation period forward.  This will include developing relationships above the program level with the manufacturer and clearly communicating program status and value.
  • Leads in the development of business objectives for each manufacturer partner.  The objectives will meet both partner and PANTHERx’s success measures for the programs.
  • Leads in the development and execution of plans for assigned manufacturer programs that drive Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that are important to both the partner and PANTHERx.
  • Oversees the Account Management team to assure manufacturer partner expectations are exceeded and the specific manufacturer program performs above expectations.   
  • Provides leadership for regularly scheduled business reviews, accumulating evidence that demonstrates PANTHERx’s position as the partner of choice and providing insights for the partner that they otherwise would not have access.
  • Leads in the identification and execution of plans to improve the enhanced service profile for all assigned therapies.  Lead negotiations for contract changes in discount or services.
  • Partners with Business Development to identify additional service revenue opportunities, and works with legal to execute new Service Agreement Amendments and Statements of Work as needed to provide new or adjusted service offers to our manufacturing and third-party partners.
  • Collaborates and communicates effectively with internal teams (including but not limited to implementation, operations, and revenue cycle management (RCM)) to design and implement processes and structure of the manufacturer’s program and assure proper functioning of the program.
  • Directs the continuous review of manufacturer programs intended to identify potential issues before they rise to a critical level and communicate them internally for corrective action and with the partner to assure satisfaction.
  • Leads in talent identification and multiplication for the Account Management team.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, healthcare, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience with Specialty Pharmacy programs or manufacturers in a leadership role. 
  • 2 + years’ experience in healthcare management setting. 
  • Prior experience with managing partner relationships in a healthcare setting. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Previous experience leading teams focused on Rare diseases. 
  • Previous experience in client relations management, specifically pharmaceutical manufacturers.
  • Ability to lead a multi-functional, matrixed organization.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a manner that is clear, logical and consistent.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment. 
  • Ability to manage deliverables in a high pace environment.

Work Environment

This position operates in a home or professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
