The National Account Manager serves as the primary point of contact and strategic partner for an assigned portfolio of customers, while also driving targeted new business development efforts within key accounts and vertical markets. This role is responsible for delivering a best-in-class customer experience by effectively managing inquiries, resolving issues, and proactively addressing customer needs.
In addition to account management, a core focus of this role is identifying and executing on growth opportunities within strategic segments. The National Account Manager leverages data-driven insights, applies established best practices, and demonstrates strong attention to detail to generate results that positively impact the business.
KEY RESPONSIIBLITY:
- Customer Account Management: Own and manage all assigned customer accounts, delivering a premium customer experience that consistently positions PLZ as the Partner of Choice in the marketplace.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to monitor the status of customer orders, including component availability, to effectively manage expectations around lead times and delivery schedules.
- Data-Driven Sales Strategy: Analyze customer and market data to identify opportunities that align with the strategic vision of the Household & Automotive (HH & Auto) division and the broader goals of PLZ Corp.
- Revenue & Margin Growth: Drive gross profit growth by strategically managing cost vs. price dynamics. Operate with a general manager mindset to exceed budget targets and maximize account profitability.
- Strategic Account Planning: Develop and execute account-specific and vertical market strategic plans to unlock growth opportunities and increase profitable revenue through a focused, proactive sales approach.
- Sales Enablement: Partner with Category Management and Marketing to gather insights and create effective sales tools that support vertical penetration and help close key accounts.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, marketing, or customer service roles.
- Experience in the automotive, pet care, or household cleaning markets is highly preferred.
- Strong time management and organizational skills; capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Proficient in using data to drive insights and inform decision-making.
- Able to work independently while also collaborating effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time.
Compensation:
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $90,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $100,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Dependent on the position offered, other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
