Hours: Per Diem - Typical shifts are scheduled M-F during the following hours: 7:30/8:00AM-4:30/5:30PM

Position Summary
As a Physical Therapy Aide at Orthopaedic Associates of Michigan, you will assist in patient care by providing routine and administrative support to our Physical Therapists and Physical Therapy Assistants. From demonstrating basic exercises to recording working documentation in charts, you will help to ensure that ever physical therapy patient is provided with empathetic and outstanding care.
Essential Responsibilities
- Under the guidance of the Physical Therapist:
- Start patients on warm up exercises upon arrival.
- Aid patients in exercises that have been recommended.
- Establish patient modalities.
- Increase workout programs as needed.
- Create and demonstrate exercises patients can do at home.
- Assist with scheduling new and existing patient referrals.
- Coordinate driving services for patients.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment:
- Clean gym equipment, rooms, tables, workout stations, etc. after use.
- Clean laundry throughout the day.
- Order and restock supplies as assigned.
- Maintain equipment as needed.
- Prepare gym diaries for each therapist.
- Perform routine administrative tasks; including but not limited to answering phones, delivering messages, copying, faxing, charting, etc.
Required & Preferred Qualifications
Education, Training, and Experience:
- Required:
- BLS Certification
- High School Diploma/GED
- Preferred:
- Exercise Physiology or Health Sciences degree

Motor, Sensory, and Physical Requirements:
- Ability to assist patients of all ages with standing and movement.
- Ability to demonstrate all exercises.
- Ability to stand and/or sit for long periods of time.
- Manual dexterity required to operate modern exercise and office equipment.
- Normal or correctible range of hearing and eyesight.
- Frequent bending, stooping, lifting and reaching required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
