Reports to: Warehouse Manager

The Warehouse Picker plays a vital role in assisting the warehouse manager by selecting merchandise from the warehouse for shipment to store locations. Responsibilities include efficiently and safely loading and unloading trucks, receiving merchandise, stocking inventory, and maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Loading and Unloading: Safely load and unload trucks to prevent damage to merchandise.   Assist in receiving merchandise and report any discrepancies to the Warehouse Manager.
• Inventory Management: Help stock merchandise and restock inventory manually or using warehouse equipment. Utilize technology to locate products and position orders at loading docks.
• Quality Control: Inspect incoming merchandise and notify the Warehouse Manager of any damages. Maintain proper staging and loading areas to ensure efficient operations.
• Warehouse Operations: Maintain a neat appearance and professional attitude at all times. Ensure proper paperwork is completed accurately. Obey all safety rules and regulations.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain equipment and report any malfunctions promptly.
• Perform duties for other personnel who are absent.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull, carry, reach, grasp, stoop, and bend for up to 10 hours at a time.
• Comfortable working on open platforms up to 2 stories high.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Proven experience as an order picker or in another warehouse position.
• Experience or license in handling forklifts, pallet jacks, cherry picker, and other warehouse equipment is helpful but not required.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and great attention to detail.
• Strong ability to read and understand simple instructions, paperwork, and safety regulations.
• Flexibility and ability to perform under pressure.
• Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
• Effective communication and time management skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, hear, use hands to handle objects, and reach with hands and arms.
• Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Frequently lift a minimum of 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds using proper lifting techniques.
• Must be able to visually inspect merchandise and delivery documents.
