About the Department
This position provides comprehensive administrative and project support that ensures efficient project performance. Assists the Project Manager in the tracking, analysis, and reporting of projects of varying contract type, size, complexity, and level of risk.
Position Duties
Monitors day-to-day operations and staff involved in construction projects; Monitors status of work progress and reports status/schedules to the Sr. Contract/Project Manager and Command Staff; Serves as point of contact for contractors for security and training requirements.
Participates in pre-construction meetings and walkthroughs; Conducts facilities and grounds inspections.
Partner with Project Managers for preparation of monthly project reporting to Command Staff and other management from both a cost and schedule aspect.
Involves interaction and coordination with project teams, contract personnel, and other functional or support departments.
Maintain and update the project Schedule, including solicitation of updates from internal and external project participants.
Coordinate and track all project purchases.
Notifies Lead Project Manager of any financial or compliance anomalies found. Perform other project-related duties as requested by Project Manager to support a successful project completion.
Projects: possess an analytical mindset with the ability to exercise sound independent judgement in evaluating situations and making decisions. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a team to meet the objectives.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred; supplemented by two years of experience in managing projects or administrating contracts.
Other Qualifications
Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or work station.
Sensory Requirements
Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate sounds and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
Environmental Factors
Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions; field work will expose the incumbent to a variety of hazards consistent with a construction site.
