Elementary School Mandarin Chinese Teacher (Middle Grades) chez Tzu Chi School

Key Responsibilities: 1. Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and informative Chinese language lessons that cater to the varying abilities of students within the elementary age range. 2. Implement immersive language teaching techniques to enhance students’ reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in Chinese. 3. Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and tailored instruction to support individual learning needs. 4. Develop and utilize instructional materials and resources that reflect cultural accuracy and inclusiveness, promoting a deeper understanding of Chinese culture, traditions, and values. 5. Foster a nurturing, creative, and inclusive classroom environment that supports students’ cultural and linguistic development. 6. Collaborate with English colleagues to create interdisciplinary lessons that integrate language learning with other subject areas. 7. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding students' progress, general class updates, cultural events, and language learning opportunities. 8. Incorporate various technological tools and multimodal resources into teaching practices to enhance learning experiences, engage students, and support diverse learning styles. 9. Provide all necessary documentation related to teaching and learning activities promptly when requested. 10. Report directly to the School Principal, with a focus on collaboration and professional growth. 11. Attend and actively participate in school events and activities, as well as professional development opportunities, as determined by school leadership. 12. Participate in lunch and recess duty, and other duties as assigned. 13. Promptly check and respond to all professional messages and emails from colleagues, parents, and administration to ensure effective communication and address issues or inquiries. 14. All other duties as assigned. Requirements & Qualifications: 1. Bachelor’s degree in Education, Chinese Language, or a related

Bachelor of Science in Education or related field (required); Master’s degree preferred. Valid California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential (preferred). ESL or TESOL certification preferred. Strong commitment to excellence in teaching and an understanding of the needs of elementary school students. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
