The Neon Museum is a nationally accredited non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to collecting, preserving, studying and exhibiting iconic Las Vegas signs for educational, historic, arts and cultural enrichment. On our 2+ acre campus, the Museum offers an outdoor exhibition space known as the Neon Boneyard; the North Gallery, home to the 360 degree light and sound experience “Brilliant! Jackpot”; and an awe-inspiring visitors’ center inside the historic lobby of the former La Concha Motel. Public and K-12 education, community outreach and engagement, research, and arts preservation represent a selection of our many ongoing projects. Welcoming 200,000-plus visitors annually, the Museum has received numerous national accolades and extensive recognition as a Las Vegas treasure. Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

The Grant and Corporate Appeal Manager is an essential member of the Philanthropy team responsible for generating revenues for programs, special projects and general operating funds through cultivation, development and stewardship of grantors, sponsors and other funding prospects. The Grant and Corporate Appeal Manager is responsible for developing and managing a pipeline of current and prospective grant funders that align with the Museum’s priorities.


· Formulate and manage a strategic grant program for The Museum.

· Create, manage and maintain a grant tracking calendar of grant deadlines, submittals, awards, and compliance to ensure visibility for all Museum stakeholders.

· Track and monitor annual revenue goals for grants to provide financial updates and recommendations for annual budget development.

· Continuously monitor for grant prospects and submit for internal consideration grants from foundations, corporations, and local, state and federal government.

· Write detailed applications for grants working with senior team members and managers.

· Submit timely accurate proposals and manage the ongoing monitoring of submissions and update reports as required.

· Ensure grant submissions align with the budgeted need of the Museum’s programming.

· Provides timely and complete reports to management and funders as required.

· Record and maintain grantor records in our grant and donor management system, Tessitura.

· Serve as a liaison between grantor agencies, recipients, external partners, and others to help interpret regulations and award documents, and resolve issues.

· Lead and document grant review meetings.

· Prioritizes work and reviews for accuracy prior to submission.

· Maintains strict confidentiality on all donor and constituent information, fundraising and prospecting strategies and internal procedures.

· Builds and maintains professional relationships, meeting with grantor contacts to establish connections and creating an open dialogue to ensure expectations are met before, during and after the grant process.

· Works collaboratively with other departments to maintain cohesive workflow and communications across the Museum.

· Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Skills and Experience

· Proven record of success with grant applications and processes essential to grant funding of at least $1m annually.

· Ability to analyze and understand often complex grant requirements, and to create funding requests addressing them in a compelling, accurate and concise manner.

· Demonstrable project management skills to monitor institution-wide project activities ensuring grant objectives are met.

· Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others.

· Excellent oral and written communications skills, including the ability to effectively speak and present to groups and diverse audiences.

· Experience with Tessitura preferred.

· Experience in communicating orally and in writing in an effective, clear and appropriate manner across a range of contexts and to diverse audiences of varying sizes required.

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Ability to learn and adapt to new software as required or introduced.

· Ability to remain productive despite numerous interruptions throughout the day.

· Fundamental understanding of contemporary issues related to diversity, equity and inclusion, and an ability to promote and uphold related standards.

· Ability to handle stressful situations in a consistently calm and professional manner.

· Ability to enforce policies in a firm but tactful manner.

· Accuracy and strong attention to detail.

· Demonstrable competencies in:

Education and Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree and at least three years' experience with grant writing and donor management.

· Excellent written and oral communications skills, including an ability to passionately convey The Neon Museum mission and values.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

· Experience in conducting and analyzing basic research required.

· Experience in developing timely and efficient solutions to unforeseen challenges required.

· Experience in working effectively and collaboratively as a member of a team required.

· Demonstrated interest in history, Las Vegas history, art, architecture, preservation or neon signs preferred.

· Experience working in a non-profit organization preferred.


Working Conditions

· Available to work extended hours as needed, including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.

· Ability to work outdoors in seasonal desert weather conditions

· Ability to work indoors in a climate-controlled environment, sitting / standing for long periods of time.

· Ability to lift 35 pounds.

· Ability to use a computer and office equipment, knowledge and use of Microsoft products

· Valid clean driver’s license and daily use of a car essential.
