VISALIA Bander/Strapper Operator 2nd Shift chez Pacific Southwest Container

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF JOB: The strapper/unitizer job involves a final inspection and strapping of orders finished off of various machines. Strapping includes both automatic strapping and hand strapping. The unitizer is responsible for seeing that all called for specifications, such as poly bags, special pallets, etc., are complied with. He/she will be responsible for the good housekeeping of the unitizer area, preventative maintenance of the strappers, The strapper/unitizer operator may be called on for occasional monthly inventories.

 

SPECIAL EDUCATION SKILLS, TRAINING OR QUALIFICATIONS THAT ARE REQUIRED FOR THIS JOB: He/she must be able to read and follow all hard card directions. He/she must be able to strap loads both automatically and using the hand strapping equipment. The ability to foresee problems before they become strapped loads is mandatory, as is a sense of cleanliness and the ability to keep a neat and orderly strapper and wrapper area. Must have 3 months experience as an entry level assistant in the packaging industry. Must have the ability to read, write and speak English.
