About the Role

The Campaigns Specialist supports the VPAAE in the development of strategy, design and implementation of Simon Fraser University's multi-year capital and comprehensive campaigns taking place at the faculty and pan-university levels. Supporting Faculty leadership and University stakeholders, the role serves as an internal and external campaign support. The Specialist manages campaign administration utilizing sector best practices that lead to significant growth in the University's capacity to secure philanthropic support for its highest priorities. The role supports the university's engagement with external consultants on feasibility studies, and with internal and external stakeholders on the development of campaign plans. The role collaborates with staff in the Advancement and Alumni Engagement department and with faculty-based fundraisers to ensure the appropriate cases for support, and fundraising plans are created and align with one another. The role supports campaign leadership volunteers with campaign materials, Cabinet meetings and connections to the appropriate university stakeholders.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Business or Philanthropy, or a related field, and three years of related experience in areas such as administering fundraising campaigns, supporting fundraising programs and working with senior leadership and leadership volunteers, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Knowledge of fundraising campaign design and implementation.
  • Knowledge of and interest in keeping current with trends in fundraising, prospect cultivation, prospect research and major gift solicitation.
  • Knowledge of relevant CRA regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
