Senior Underwriter
Axle Funding with offices in Carmel, IN and Addison, TX is seeking a Senior Underwriter to be part of the dynamic credit team that is accountable for creation and monitoring of independent auto dealers floorplan line of credit. Lines of credit range from $25,000 to over $1 Million based on credit worthiness and performance.
This role is located in Addison Texas with the credit team and is currently a remote position. The Senior underwriter is responsible for the underwriting of accounts within the Credit Department and to ensure perfection of assets. These duties will include the full underwriting investigation and decisioning, processing contracts, filing state UCC liens and other various job duties for auto auction floorplan credit lines on current and potential customers. This role will report to Credit Management.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Collect, review and analyze an applicant’s relevant history and records.
• Analyze supporting documentation and decision the account with the appropriate Line of Credit and Risk, while adhering to company policies and standards.
• Facilitate the credit needs of customers by underwriting new requests and material modifications from deal screen through approval and for the life of the loan.
• Review all pertinent credit and financial information, including but not limited to financial statements, tax returns, bank statements, credit bureaus, internal credit/performance information.
• Analyze financial information and related materials and complete the credit analyses for the commercial transactions.
• Create written analyses to include an independent credit quality assessment with well-supported risk rating, identification of and description of credit risks and mitigants, financial trends, and other pertinent credit issues of respective deals.
• Partner proactively with Sales Executives, Account Managers and be intimately involved throughout the deal process, from the point of application through approval.
• Ensure that all loan files are perfected, complete and accurate.
• Perform Annual reviews on approved loans to ensure that all legal regulations, required conditions, and company policies are met.
Requirements
Job Requirements
* Bachelor degree or Equivalent credit experience required
* English / Spanish Bilingual preferred
* Preferred three-five years' experience in underwriting at levels commensurate to authority of above $300,000.
* Experience and/or knowledge in UCC procedure and requirements
* Preferred auto auction experience, understanding and knowledge
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Especially Adobe, Excel, Word, Outlook)
* Ability to work independently and function in a team environment, working in conjunction with other teams to ensure quality and volume objectives are achieved
* Excellent interpersonal and business communication skills
* Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from diverse groups, including branch personnel and Executive Management
* Detailed oriented and efficient; ability to organize & prioritize projects; complete multiple tasks on schedule in fast paced environment
* Punctual and flexible; ability to report to work on time each day and work extended hours if/when workflow requires or management requests
