Venturi Astrolab, Inc. (Astrolab) is pioneering new ways to explore and operate on distant planetary bodies. We are singularly focused on designing, building, and operating a fleet of multi-purpose commercial planetary rovers to extend and enhance humanity’s presence in the solar system. We are seeking motivated, creative, and exceptional people to join our world-class team. 

As a Design Reliability Engineer, you will be a critical piece of the Astrolab design process. You will facilitate communication across teams to ensure program and company requirements are met. You will work closely with other engineers to define key performance parameters and development strategies for unique hardware to be operated on the lunar surface. You will improve Astrolab’s internal systems and processes to facilitate efficient and high-quality engineering outputs. 

What you'll do:

  • Provide critical peer review and approval of hardware designs during design & test reviews 
  • Develop design criteria, requirements, and verification approaches for new systems 
  • Interpret program requirements and provide guidance for engineers at the working level 
  • Ensure that Astrolab design processes are followed and in compliance with AS9100 certification documents 
  • Develop and improve Astrolab design standards, processes, and systems 
  • Develop specialized design and analysis tools 

What’s Prepared You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline 
  • 3+ years of experience in an engineering role 
  • Attention to detail in communication, documentation, and design process 
  • A drive for constant, iterative improvement of company methods and processes 
  • Experience interfacing with teams in design and manufacturing organizations, across multiple functions 
  • Familiarity with aerospace industry design standards and methods
