Product Owners are responsible for defining requirements, assisting with the overall product roadmap/vision, and driving value at the scrum team level. Product Owners work closely with teams and are the “voice of the customer”, ensuring the needs of the end-user are incorporated into the product from design to deployment. Product owners are responsible for the authoring of functional user stories which are used to support the day to day development of new features and capabilities.
There is a need for an IT Product Owner who possesses the technical expertise to manage the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and ITOM Products within ServiceNow. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure that planned work maintains data integrity and consistency across the organization, ultimately supporting the service catalog and enabling accurate and standardized reporting capabilities at the enterprise level. The ideal candidate should have experience in data modeling, asset management, and service management, particularly in ServiceNow. Additionally, they should be skilled at collaborating with technical stakeholders and prioritizing the foundational needs of the platform to promote stability and scalability.

ROLE
● Provides data governance practices to maintain data accuracy integrity and completeness within the configuration management database (CMDB), and IT Operations Management (ITOM).
● Develops and enforces change management processes for the CMDB to ensure that updates are tracked and approved.
● Determines features and dependencies that rely on the foundational data elements of the CMDB and ITOM and prioritize their work based on impact and value.
● Ensures that reporting standards are maintained at an enterprise level and that the data model is enforced for users and implementers within the platform.
● Identifies risks impacting the timely delivery of a given feature and collaborates with team members to prepare mitigation strategies.
● Collaborates with technology stakeholders (e.g., Systems Architects, Software Engineers) to define new and or enhanced product requirements and functionality.
● Shares feedback with the team members pertaining to the quality of sprint deliverables during retrospectives.
● Manages the remediation of defects raised throughout the development lifecycle.
● Abides by and follows software quality assurance standards, processes, and controls as it pertains to Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
● Assists in the development of new or improved practices and organizational processes or standards.
● Collaborates with the Delivery team to ensure the work managed by teams achieves the highest value relative to needs/priority of the business.
● Works continuously/daily with teams to provide answers, feedback, and direction on work items, enablers, user stories, etc.
● Prioritizes the sprint backlog (as part of the sprint planning ceremony) based on the sequencing/ranking of features defined in the product roadmap.
● Defines and communicates the minimum viable product (MVP) for a given application/product and the supporting release plans.
● Collaborates with Product Owners and Platform teams to define the sprint plan based on the priority outlined within the overall product vision and roadmap.
● Refines product requirements based on the input obtained through sprint showcases/demos.
● Creates and authors user stories with detailed acceptance criteria written in the customers’ voice.
● Collaborates with the team to prepare the estimates for the user stories within the product backlog.
● Conducts the formal review and acceptance of user stories implemented by a team within a sprint.
● Drives the execution of user acceptance testing (UAT) activities with support from business and technology team members.
● Supports and participates in program level ceremonies including product increment (PI) planning sessions.
● Performs functional reviews as part of sprint demos and showcases along with other Product Owners and Delivery Managers.
● Supports the business strategy by forming a backlog of features and user stories for use by the delivery team.
● Articulates requirements for each user story with detailed acceptance criteria.
● Uses data and insights from multiple sources that benefits the business and our members.
● Delivers new experiences by working directly with delivery, experience design, business, and operations partners to design new product features and improvements to existing capabilities.
● Updates leadership on the epic and feature delivery schedule, including dependencies impacting deliverables, along with recommended solutions.
● Pursues incremental delivery by looking for ways to meet business goals and end users through frequent, measurable enhancements.
● Partners with Solution Architects and other technical leads to ensure the technical designs and solutions effectively meet Company and CDS goals.
● Works collaboratively and uses best practices with the delivery team to support backlog refinement, sprint planning, and long-term release planning. Monitors and improves product health.
● Ensures completed stories meet acceptance criteria by reviewing test plans, the output of automated testing or, where necessary, contributing to manual testing efforts. Prioritizes and collaborates in resolution of issues and defects.
● Seeks and improves processes across the entire product team.
● Communicates with team members, stakeholders, and all levels of management.
● Works with stakeholders to identify solutions that support their business requirements.
REQUIRED
● Experience in Building Road Maps for bigger CMDB Implementations (New & Revamp).
● Experience in writing stories by clearly articulating acceptance criteria and dependencies for CMDB.
● Deep understanding of CMDB & CSDM concepts, data modeling, and best practices.
● Experience in populating CMDB data from multiple sources (native discovery tools, integrations) and maintaining data quality.
● Experience in running CMDB Governance Meetings and talking to stakeholders (CMDB Class Owners and their leadership) by onboarding them into CMDB to have healthy and accurate data.
● Experience in leveraging CMDB Data to solve business problems (Reduction of MTTR, Identify Root Cause, etc,).
● Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change), ITAM processes (Hardware and Software Asset) and how they relate to the CMDB.
● Experience as a Product Owner or similar role, preferably in an information technology field.
Recommended
● 5+ years of ServiceNow experience.
● 3+ years of experience in ITOM ( Discovery , Service Mapping , Event Management).
● Knowledge on Infrastructure , Networks , Firewalls.
● Knowledge on Enterprise Monitoring & Security Vulnerability Tools.
● Proficient in Google Workspace applications, including Sheets, Docs, Slides, and Gmail.

Pay Ranges:
Level 1 - $90,000 - $115,000
Level 2 - $105,000 - $135,000
Level 3 - $130,000 - $160,000
Level 4 - $140,000 - $200,000
