We are seeking a General Accountant for our Rye Brook, NY office location in Westchester County. This in-office role is responsible for general ledger accounting, tax compliance and analytic support for company operations.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and year-end work paper packages from posted journal entries and general ledger analysis
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with Federal, State and local tax requirement and manage tax filing process
- Oversee the internal and external auditing process
- Maintain business and state licensing requirements
- Ensure that all insurance renewals are completed accurately and in accordance with annual timelines
- Conduct financial statement analysis and create reporting for leadership
- PILOST tracking
- Manage the corporate credit card process and assist with Concur expense approval process
- Assist with the subcontractor prequalification process as needed
- Partner with accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed to ensure compliance
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a similar field of study
- A minimum of eight years of professional experience in public or private accounting
- Advanced Excel knowledge required. Must perform V-lookups and create pivot tables on a regular basis
- Prior experience at a general contracting company or subcontractor is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of construction accounting processes, forms, and systems is preferred (Procore, Sage, etc.)
- Ability to prioritize and manage time well under tight deadlines
- Team player with an ability to build relationships across the organization
- Excellent organization and communications skills
