At the University of Nebraska Foundation, we grow relationships and resources that enable the University of Nebraska to change lives and save lives. As an investment intern, you will have the opportunity to join our driven, people-centered organization while playing an integral role in helping us achieve our mission. You will join the foundation at an exciting time, with the opportunity to make a transformational impact. The foundation is in the public phase of a historic campaign to raise $3 billion to build a better future for Nebraska. The campaign is being led by many enthusiastic volunteers representing all areas of the University of Nebraska System. UNL anchors the campaign, with a goal of $1.5 billion from enthusiastic donors.

Students enrolled in the Investors with Purpose course are invited to apply for an internship position with the investment office at the University of Nebraska Foundation. The selected candidate will be expected to keep a journal of their experiences and summarize for a presentation to the sponsoring donor. This paid position offers a flexible schedule of 10-15 hours per week, professional experience, and a convenient downtown Lincoln office location.

Ways you will make an impact:

  • This unique role allows the selected student to experience what it is like to work side-by-side with seasoned investment professionals.
  • Assist in managing a variety of investment portfolios in excess of $3.0B.
  • Work closely with the foundation’s Chief Investment Officer on a variety of projects.
  • Complete real responsibilities, under guidance, as well as accountabilities to build real-world skills.
  • Network with external money managers and other investment industry contacts.

What you need:

  • Enrolled as student in the “Investors with Purpose” course.
  • Strong Excel, general technology, and analytical skills.
  • Organization skills, accuracy, attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Discretion in handling confidential matters.
