Job Statement

An exciting opportunity exists for a Plant Metallurgist to join our processing team at Genesis Minerals within our Gwalia, Leonora operation! Reporting to the Senior Metallurgist, you will be responsible for the monitoring and improvement of metallurgical performance targets of the process facility for our Gwalia operation, enhancing performance and ensuring Quality control standards. This is a full-time permanent opportunity, on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster. The role may be Fly-in Fly-out from Perth WA, Drive-in Drive-out from Kalgoorlie or residential in Leonora.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Define and maintain targets for production personnel to achieve maximum benefit from plant throughput, gold recovery and operating costs
  • Review operating and technical data to identify non compliance or opportunity for process optimisation
  • Monitor key equipment in the process plant and onsite laboratory to ensure performance, components are optimised, and alternatives assessed
  • Monitor reagent consumption and ensure the optimum use of reagent in processing plant.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate daily, weekly, monthly reporting and forecasting
  • Provide technical support to operations, laboratory, and metallurgy team
  • Develop quality assurance program to ensure compliance of operating procedure
  • Undertake surveys, coordinate sampling, and carry out test work to evaluate process improvement opportunities. Interrogate data and develop models
  • Ensure integrity of sample collection systems
  • Maintain instrument calibrations and function
  • Ensure best utilisation of Citect SCADA system for process control purposes
  • Process data analysis to identify bottleneck and improvements
