WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
The ideal Grille Host/Hostess for Bear Creek is a guest service focused individual with the ability to help create a positive, memorable experience for our guests. The successful team member will be able to work with their team as well as individually, have good communication skills, be detail oriented and foster the Bear Creek culture by focusing on our guests. This position will be an important member of The Grille team, as this position is the first to greet and welcome the guest to the Grille and are the first impression the guest has of the restaurant. Additionally, the Host/Hostess helps to create a smooth-running shift as they distribute the service load allowing the Server to provide a high level of service to each table. This position is the last person the guest sees when leaving The Grille, which impacts the guest experience.
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:
- Wipe down all menus, ensuring they are free of spots or stains, and complete
- Clean entry doors and area ensuring it is free of debris and inviting
- Retrieve reservations from phone reservationists and answering machine messages capturing all reservations
- Enter and manage reservations from point-of-sale system
- Identify all large or private parties
- Be aware of kitchen status identifying if they are behind or out of anything
- Plan out the seating chart and organize the reservations
- Greets guests, escorts them to their table, pull seat out for the ladies, and present menus
- Notify server that guests have been seated
- Keep the counts for individual server so the service load is distributed evenly
- Maintain communication with the servers and the kitchen identifying delays to make sure that table placement does not create a difficult situation for a server, resulting in a negative guest experience
- Keep dining room, entryway, bathrooms, and menus clean throughout operations
- Thank and say good-bye to all guests.
- If there are any issues, immediately get a manager
- Not only is the host or hostess the first impression the guest gets when they come to an establishment they are also the last. You should check with every guest and if there was any kind of problem quickly get a manager
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM ALL BCMR TEAM MEMBERS:
- Acknowledge all guests and respond promptly to their needs, however busy and whatever time of day. Ensure unresolved incidents are reported to Manager/Supervisor
- Familiarity with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately
- Contribute to the team's success by accomplishing tasks and assisting with projects as needed
- Maintain knowledge and compliance with departmental policies, service procedures, and standards
- Work as a team member to ensure our guests have the best possible experience
- Understand emergency procedures and be able to apply them when necessary
- Report any incidents, property damage or injuries immediately to Manager/Supervisor
- Attend department meetings and training sessions as necessary
- Other duties as assigned by Manager and/or Supervisor
