Position Overview: Are you ready to play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our products? Join us as an RT Technician at PRL, where you will perform x-ray inspections and quality checks of castings, semi-finished parts, and finished parts. You will work in accordance with written procedures and specifications, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.
Job Summary: As an RT Technician at PRL, you will be responsible for performing x-ray inspections and quality checks of castings, semi-finished parts, and finished parts. You will use PRL's X-Ray equipment to perform tests in accordance with written procedures and specifications. Additionally, you will load and unload x-ray film in cassettes in a darkroom environment, develop x-ray film, and maintain the automatic film processor. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence will ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.
Job Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree or vocational training in radiography, mechanical technology, or other trades area preferred.
- Experience: Two or more years of radiographic or related work experience in industrial, mechanical, or machining work. Healthcare radiology experience may be considered. Must complete a trainee period before being qualified and certified to an NDT Level. After completing the training period, the incumbent must be able to pass Level I and/or Level II examination.
- Skills:
- Ability to use inspection and measuring tools and read blueprints.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, as well as an ability to write in English.
- Ability to function independently with minimal supervision.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform x-ray inspection of castings and parts using PRL's X-Ray equipment.
- Load and unload x-ray film in cassettes in a darkroom environment.
- Develop x-ray film and maintain the automatic film processor.
- Check and refill developer and fixer solution tanks as needed.
- Maintain the silver recovery system by monitoring and reclaiming silver per instructions.
- Receive and stock film in areas provided, and inventory film stock as directed.
- Verify information on documents to correspond to parts. Record information in accordance with instructions.
- Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, hand trucks, floor, or hanging scales.
- Clean work area as directed.
- Operate a pickup truck and have a valid driver’s license.
Physical and Mental Efforts: Extensive mobility required, some lifting. Position requires the ability to lift objects weighing more than 50 pounds occasionally; walk and stand for long durations; see objects closely and distinguish between contrasting colors; and hear normal sounds with some background noises. Position requires the ability to concentrate on fine detail with constant interruption and attend to tasks for 45 to 60 minutes at a time.
