Effective immediately, the Human Resources Department is accepting online applications for the position of Technology-Media Assistant (10-Month). This position works 8 hours per day, Monday-Friday during the school year, and reports to the Technology Director.

Job Summary
The Technology & Media Assistant supports the integration of technology and media services within the school. This position provides first-level technology assistance to staff and students, coordinates the daily operations of the Media Center in collaboration with the District Media Specialist, and helps ensure that technology and media resources are accessible, reliable, and effectively used to support teaching and learning.

Job Functions

Technology Support

Provide basic troubleshooting for walk-in, phone, and email requests from staff, students, and parents; escalate issues to User Support Specialists as needed.
Document services provided using the district help desk system.
Assist with technology training for staff, students, and substitutes.
Support the distribution, collection, maintenance, and inventory of student devices, labs, carts, and classroom technology.
Manage school computer lab schedules and maintain related equipment.
Provide technology and audio-visual support for school events.
Support School Assessment Coordinators during online testing (e.g., lab preparation, troubleshooting, and logistical support).

Media Center Support

Assist staff and students with media and technology resources, circulation, and check-in/check-out processes.
Support the District Media Specialist with budgeting, purchasing, and resource management.
Manage and maintain catalog, circulation, patron, and reporting systems.
Prepare overdue notices and assist with collection of fines for lost/damaged items.
Help maintain media spaces and labs as welcoming, organized, and effective learning environments.
Assist with general reference questions, including guiding students and staff in the use of online and educational resources.

Collaboration & Environment

Assist staff in supervising and supporting students in media and technology learning activities.
Build inclusive, equitable, and respectful working relationships with students, staff, families, and community members.
Maintain a positive, professional, and safe educational environment.
Participate in district or schoolwide projects and events as needed.
Adhere to all staff, program, and district policies and procedures.
Demonstrate reliable, regular, and prompt attendance.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience supporting users with technology and audio-visual equipment.
Proficiency with productivity applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
Working knowledge of Windows, iOS, and Chrome operating systems.
Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to establish cooperative working relationships and contribute to team capacity.
Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and complete tasks.
Ability to follow complex instructions accurately.

Preferred:

Experience working in a PK–12 school environment.
Familiarity with Macintosh and Android operating systems.
Prior experience supporting users and devices in a networked environment.
Associate’s degree or equivalent coursework/experience.

Physical Requirements

Ability to move throughout the building to provide support.
Ability to crawl, stoop, or reach when troubleshooting technology issues.
Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds unassisted.

Salary Range: $38,800 - $44,000
