EMPLOYMENT TERMS: Part-time position (.25 FTE)
PRIMARY DUTY: The Project Assistant will work at Northwest Missouri State University as part of the NWRPDC regional team to support school districts in the region to ensure high academic achievement for all students. The primary responsibility of the Project Assistant will be to provide direct instruction and support to building leaders, classroom teachers, special education teachers and school districts in evidence-based instructional practice, collaborative and data team processes and in developing and implementing a collaborative system with a clear focus on results and learning for all in order to ensure academic success.
Position Duties
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To build the capacity of school districts through professional development activities and on-site consultation. The Curriculum and Instruction Project Assistant will:
1. Be responsible for working with the schools within (and outside) of the 15 county Northwest Regional Professional Development Center area to provide professional development.
2. Be responsible for training and support services to identified districts/schools in order to develop systemic processes that support academic achievement.
3. Drive to and from district/school in order to provide training/coaching for a minimum of six hours, providing a car for said travel.
4. Use a high level of technology tools for presentation and communication purposes.
5. Lift and transport presentation equipment and materials.
6. Prepare and submit data, documentation, and written reports as requested.
7. Attend RPDC, Field Staff, and other required state meetings.
8. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor’s in Education
Certification/License: Driver’s License
Experience: Five years of successful teaching experience as a teacher and/or an administrator in general education; successful experience in collaborating in a variety of learning opportunities and in training of adult learners
Skills: Demonstrated ability to communicate and express ideas effectively, both orally and in writing; ability to establish rapport and effective working relationships with local school district personnel; university staff, and RPDC personnel; ability to use technology for word processing, recordkeeping, and presentations; knowledge and experience analyzing standardized assessment data; knowledge of research-based effective teaching and behavior management strategies for general education and special education; knowledge and successful experience in organizing and providing effective professional development practices to improve student performance; skills in presenting, facilitating, coaching and mentoring
Other: Ability to travel daily, including overnight, within Missouri and occasionally out of state.

WORKING CONDITIONS: This position may work various hours to meet the needs of the department. Travel is required, within (and outside) of region. Some overnight stays may occur.
EQUIPMENT/MATERIALS USED: Standard office equipment, technology applications such as Microsoft, Google and Zoom, including presentation materials.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must have the ability to lift 40 lbs. Must be able to drive.
