Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Directly responsible for the assembly of complex and varying components according to established procedures and methods prescribed.  This work involves identifying specific variations to each assembly and building each component accordingly.  This involves differentiating the assembly of several parts, tolerances, and specifications. 

 

Principle Accountabilities:

  1. Performs all job functions in a safe manner following all established safety guidelines and procedures. Only operates work stations that the associates has been fully trained to operate and knows all emergency stop locations and “lock-out tag-out points” ( if applicable). Wears all necessary personal protective equipment at all times. Notifies the Team Leader immediately of any safety concerns.
  2. Operates various machines and power hand tools to assemble components as dictated by the manufacturing systems and processes and to a broadcasted build specification.  Performs repetitive operations of loading and unloading component parts and assemblies into process modules.    
  3. To ensure quality, performs visual and gaged inspections, and verifies proper assembly of all parts as directed by work instructions; work is subject to process and final inspection.
  4. Recognizes defective parts, machine malfunctions, and dimensional deviations; referring problems to team leader. Required to keep non-conforming material in designated areas and follow established procedures for assembly.
  5. Uses various power hand tools to build components to specific tolerances, torques and other specifications.  Uses other tools such as hammers, files, deburr tools, wrenches, power or air tools, as a repair process as required.
  6. Under little supervision, with detailed instructions and guidance, will provide assistance with new work, variations, and operating inefficiencies.
  7. Ensure all equipment and the work areas are cleaned daily and free of safety hazards.
  8. Run at established efficiency standards and ensures consistency with current process sheets.  Maintaining established cycle times to ensure production output is met.
  9. Performs all other duties as assigned.
  10. Must accurately complete required paperwork, in-process tags, scrap reports, and other reports as outlined by the manufacturing/quality  systems.
  11. Keeps work area clean and organized to established 5 ‘S’ standards.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • NONE

Education:  

  • High school diploma - preferred but not required

Experience:  

  • Minimum of one year of experience in production environment
  • Ability to work with people
  • Ability to operate all stations 
  • Ability to work any shift

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is required to stand for extended periods of time without sitting. The associates must be able to read, write and speak English fluently to understand the build requirements for each component as broadcasted. The associate frequently is required to use hand to finger coordination, handle, or feel objects, operate tools (manual and automated), or controls and keep balance. The associate is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, lift or crawl; and talk or hear. The associate must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Starting Pay :  $19.50/hr + $1.00/hr. Night Shift Premium
