Federal Contract Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen or a Lawful Permanent Resident.
JOB PURPOSE: The Transportation Coordinator at the Eagle Lake Children’s Center is responsible for the transportation needs of the Unaccompanied Minors in care. The Transportation Coordinator will assist in transporting minors to the airport for reunifications, to doctor appointments, and to educational and weekend outings.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSBILITIES:
- Transport minors from the center to the Houston Hobby or Houston Intercontinental Airport upon approval to be reunified.
- Responsible for ensuring vehicle safety to include oil & filter changes and tire rotations.
- Responsible for annual vehicle inspections.
- Maintain a transportation log to include destination and passengers in vehicle.
- Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor with all staff and minors.
- Document all incidents that occur during transport and immediately report incident to Shift Supervisor/Shelter Manager.
- Must be able to remain calm in high traffic driving freeways and or expressways.
- Other job duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Proficiency in Spanish/English (written and spoken language skills), highly preferred.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office products and Google tools.
- Successfully pass a TB test annually.
- Successfully pass a drug screen.
- Be physically, mentally, and emotionally capable of performing assigned tasks and have the skills necessary to perform assigned task.
- Pass a criminal history screen, including state, federal, and local child protection agency registries.
- Ability to work independently and exercise a high level of confidentiality.
- Affidavit for Applicants for Employment with a Licensed Operation or Registered Children’s Home.
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in a child welfare setting.
LICENSES:
- Clear driving record.
WORK LOCATION:

Eagle Lake Children’s Center in-person.
OTHER: Must be available and willing to travel in case of an emergency evacuation and as the business need dictate. Must be available and willing to work nights, weekends and holidays as required to meet business needs.
