SEWS — El Paso, Texas Office. Although located at SEWS – El Paso Office, this is a Hybrid position, which combines both in office and off-site work. Associates are required to work at least three days in the office each week, but also have the flexibility to work off-site.
Basic Purpose:
Buyer for the El Paso MRO Department. Buyer preforms purchasing of MRO Related items by evaluating vendor price, quality, delivery and specification requirements, will negotiate terms, pricing, and delivery of items to meet SEWS internal demand. Record savings and maintaining purchasing records.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Timely procurement of materials, reviewing requisitions and issuing purchase orders.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, collaborate on cost savings and negotiations and conduct research.
- Manage daily supplier relationships, negotiate terms, resolve quality issues, and provide performance feedback to suppliers to build a strong working relationship.
- Identify cost savings opportunities, negotiate contracts, report on MRO expenses, and optimize MRO purchasing process.
- Maintain professional work environment through 6S principals (Sort/Set/Shine/Standardize/Sustain/Safety).
- Follow up on Incoterms for shipping/receiving MRO materials to US and Mexico.
- Track and report monthly cost savings activities to procurement management team.
- May perform non-purchasing duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree along with 2-3 years experience/degree in related field preferred but not required.
- Bilingual (English-Spanish) capability preferred but not required.
- Good communication skills.
- Analytical and problem solving abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, detail oriented and proficient in MS office skills, strong excel skills.
- Working knowledge of computer and major software packages.
- Ability to learn in-house computer programs.
- Work in team environment
