GENERAL SUMMARY (Describe the overall duties and responsibilities of the job):


  1. Facilitate the effective operation of all functions in assigned plant
  2. Ensure all plant business metrics (Production / Quality / Etc.) meet targets

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Duties required for successful job performance): 


  1. Provides general direction for Plant operations by creating and communicating annual business plan, developing and monitoring Plant budget, and communicating direction and expectations to all associates.
  2. Ensures Plant performance meets established business metric goals by regularly reviewing metrics / status, ensuring that departmental functions identify gaps and countermeasure any gaps found, and by supporting all functions with data / resources / kaizen / etc.
  3. Ensures customer expectations are met by maintaining an effective Quality function, adjusting schedules and staffing as needed, and planning for future capacity needs.
  4. Facilitates efficient performance and kaizen of all Plant processes by monitoring performance metrics, reacting to performance gaps, and ensuring / supporting / promoting Plant kaizen activities.
  5. Facilitates the accurate and timely reporting of all tracked business metrics by assigning a reporting schedule (among staff), regularly following up on status, and ensuring the countermeasure of any gaps found.
  6. Facilitates the communication of problems / status / etc., to all Plant associates by conducting regular plant communication meetings, conducting regular staff meetings, project follow-up meetings, etc.
  7. Ensure proper training and development of all Plant personnel by verifying that all hourly staff are properly trained to posted work instructions, ensuring timely and effective goal-setting and reviews for all personnel, and ensuring salaried staff are provided developmental goals and the opportunity to apply new knowledge and training.
  8. Ensure compliance with all IATF-16949 and ISO-14001 requirements.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE (These are the traditional minimum, or required, bona-fide occupational qualifications and other requirements of most people in this job).


  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Operations Management, or Engineering-related field, or the equivalent experience
  2. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Operations and/or Engineering functions, including experience in supervision, budgeting, and planning.


REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those needed to perform the essential functions of the job).


  1. Excellent interpersonal / communication / leadership skills
  2. Ability to assess a situation and make timely decisions
  3. Good organizational / time management skills; Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  4. Good problem-solving and analytical skills
  5. Excellent supervisory skills (conflict management, performance management, etc.)
  6. Basic skills in MS-Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

 

REQUIRED DECISION-MAKING AND ORGANIZATION IMPACT (Describe the typical types of decisions made by employees in this job and the likely impact of those decisions on the Company).


  1. This position makes a variety of decisions that affect the Plant’s ability to reach established business goals – How to schedule manpower, how to plan ahead for future needed capacity, how to countermeasure process problems, etc.     If these issues are not effectively addressed, we may be unable to meet production deadlines.  Negative results may include shipping expedites, excess overtime hours, and mis-ships to customers.
  2. This position is responsible for ensuring effective training and development for all Plant associates.  If we provide inadequate training time/resources, typical results include inefficiency, poor quality, and poor decision-making.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS (Indicate job titles for this job’s supervisor and direct reports).


  1. Reports to CEO, Sanoh America 
  2. Direct reports include the Operations Manager, Quality/Engineering/Maintenance Manager, and Human Resources/EHS Manager.  

 

WORKING CONDITIONS (Describe the environment within which the work is performed).


1.  Mix of office environment and plant floor environment; approximately 90% / 10%2.     
2. Frequent travel possible, including overnight stay


 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


  1. Frequent travel to the plant floor is required, including manufacturing cells off the main aisle paths
