POSITION SUMMARY
The Client advocates primary responsibilities are direct client care, crisis intervention, and assisting with client needs, concerns, appointments, and phone calls.

Essential Functions:
Direct Client Care
- Support Primary Clinical Team by completing client requested phone calls, client requested medical appointments, client requested issues including the following: (Paying Bills, Checking Email, Checking Phone, Contacting Family, Making Medical/Dental Appointments, AMA Blocking, Crisis Intervention)
- Group Facilitation: The secondary role of the Client Advocate position is as a traditional Group Facilitator. Being available to fill in, cover and offer clinical based groups when requested and completing documentation no later than 05:00 PM on the day of service.
- The client advocate will report all major issues regarding clients to the assigned primary clinical team and the clinical operations director. The client advocate will work collaboratively with program managers, clinical team members, operations staff and Management.
- Treatment Team Attendance: The Client Advocate will attend clinical treatment team weekly, reporting and sharing client concerns and issues within a group dynamic, ensuring communication with other clinical team members is upheld and staff is aware of vital issues, concerns, and risk factors.
- Maintaining Schedule/Calendar: The Client advocate will work out of an open calendar, regarding the above listed tasks. After completion and documentation of completed tasks within the EMR, Client advocates will remove each task from the live calendar.
- Client transportation: The Client advocate may be asked to transport clients to and from appointments and ensure safe driving practices. During these tasks, client advocate will report and coordinate with Administrative Director Lisa Ward as well as the Clinical Operations Director.
- Standards of Documentation: The client advocate will be completing documentation on a daily basis in the following areas: Urgent Issues, Flags, Incident Reports, Email, Additional Chart Notes (EMR) etc.

Education:
- 1-2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- Active School or Completion of SUD education preferred
Experience:
- 2 years experience in the field of addiction and mental health or equivalent human services work experience preferred.
Computer Skills:
- Computer Literacy in doc, spreadsheet, and email.
- Proficiency in KIPU Systems Client Management Software
Certificates & Licenses:
- Valid Driver’s License
- AODC/SUD Certification (Active or In Progress)
Other Requirements:
- Medical Clearance to work within past year
- Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screenings
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to lift/carry 20lbs
- Moderate frequency of computer keyboarding
- Moderate frequency of viewing a computer monitor
- Moderate frequency of driving/transporting clients
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed primarily within each inpatient facility, including driving and transporting clients as well as mandatory meetings at the IOP Office when requested.
Work Schedule:
As a non-exempt salaried employee, the employee shall work a designated number of hours per week as assigned by management. Employee must also follow company’s policies regarding required meals and breaks.
