LOCATION:  Colorado Springs, CO

STATUS: Full-time

SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm

PAY RANGE: $56,472 - $58,656 

SUPPLEMENTAL PAY: Based on position, schedule and/or availability: Paid Mileage

MILEAGE AND EXPENSE REIMBURSEMENT: Maximum Allowable Federal Mileage Reimbursement Rate

REWARDING WORK YOU WILL DO:

Responsible for developing and implementing music therapy programs for patients in accordance with the patient’s preferences, goals and needs. The position works collaboratively with the Interdisciplinary Team/Group (IDT/IDG) as well as with facilities and agencies in the community. 

  • Performs initial and on-going assessments to create a treatment plan in accordance with patient’s preferences, goals and needs. Submits accurate and timely documentation of the Plan of Care (POC) through the EMR system.
  • Performs music therapy applications to meet patient needs including, but not limited to: relaxation, stress management, pain control, personal expression, physical stimulation, comfort, and affirmation of life, helping patients renew or develop new interest in music.
  • Participates with interdisciplinary team (IDT) to address the patient’s progress. 
  • Assists in developing and providing educational and public relations programs for staff and the general community.
  • Mentors and provides clinical supervision for interns in music therapy, as assigned.
  • Assists families with memorial/funeral service plans when requested.
  • Oversees and coordinates designated volunteer music performers.
  • Participates in the organization’s quality assessment and performance improvement (QAPI) program at a departmental or agency-wide level.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

WHAT WE ARE GOING TO LOVE ABOUT YOU:

  • Minimum Education:  Bachelor or Master’s degree in Music Therapy from a school/college accredited by the American Music Therapy Association. Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum Experience: One (1) year experience in a health care setting preferred.
  • Required License:  Current National Music Therapy certification. Valid Colorado Driver’s license and proof of auto insurance. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift/carry a minimum of 30 lbs.

Care Synergy provides mission support services to better equip Pikes Peak Hospice and Palliative Care to operate as a distinct and independent organization while working together to share best practices and serve more Coloradans along the Front Range.
