The Claims Admin Supervisor is responsible for directing operation of a team of Claims Assistants, which may include one or more of the following functions: human resources, customer service, support and training on internal systems.  

This is a hybrid position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for directing the Claims Assistants in their day-to-day operations, ensuring employees have all the tools and resources needed to be successful in their role. 
  • Identify, analyze, and solve escalated problems outside of standard processes.
  • Ensures staff compliance with Workers’ Compensation laws and mandated regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Direct training efforts for new employees and oversees ongoing training for existing staff.  
  • Responsible for the quality of service provided by Claims Assistant team.
  • Responsible for human resources matters directly related the team supervised with support from HR Business Partner as needed; including employee performance management.
  • Serve as back up for Claims Assistant tasks as needed including setting up of new claims, recording of documentation, and assisting with customer phone calls and examiner support.  
  • Requires regular and consistent attendance.
  • Maintain employee confidence and protect operations by keeping sensitive information confidential.
  • Comply with all safety rules and regulations during work hours in conjunction with the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (“IIPP”).
  • Additional duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: 

  • Effective multi-tasking skills in a high-volume, fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize MS Office including Outlook and Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to skillfully manage multiple, complex projects and competing priorities concurrently while working under pressure to meet deadlines and maintaining strong customer service orientation.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: 

  • High school diploma, college degree preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience in the worker’s compensation claims industry preferred.

 

PAY RANGE:

CorVel uses a market based approach to pay and our salary ranges may vary depending on your location.  Pay rates are established taking into account the following factors:  federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, the geographic location differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal employee equity, and market conditions.  Our ranges may be modified at any time.

For leveled roles (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.) new hires may be slotted into a different level, either up or down, based on assessment during interview process taking into consideration experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.  The level may impact the salary range and these adjustments would be clarified during the offer process.

Pay Range: $18.80 - $30.34 per hour
